TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

A winter group exhibition at Salon Ninety One, created in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic. The phrase “to whom it may concern” is traditionally used when the recipient is unknown, yet it feels uncannily suited to this moment. Over the past year, we have all lived through profound shifts and disruptions. Who could have imagined that, more than a year on, we would still be navigating this so-called “new normal”? With so many events cancelled, postponed, or indefinitely delayed, where do we place the weight of our emotions? How do we give shape to the ways we’ve changed, and, if it were possible, who would we even address it to?
